Road Rides

Before most monthly meetings, our members coordinate half day rides terminating at a member's home for our Club Meetings. There are many great riding roads in Southern Ontario and along with GPS routes made available in advance of the ride day, our members can join the designated group ride or choose to ride solo or in other smaller groups winding up at the Club meeting point.

Other day Rides are arranged by our members over the course of the summer taking in those favourite lunch and sweet dessert spots along the way. Typically these rides would be 300 to 400 kilometres.

Getaways

Our 3 and 4-day Getaways offer a great way to experience the touring without committing to a longer destination ride.

Our club runs our own long weekend Getaways and prefers the Pennsylvania experiences of State College and Wellsboro areas as two of our most frequented locations to call our home base. These are modest one day rides from the Toronto GTA area and typically run Fridays to Mondays.

Riders choose to travel independently, or with a group.

Tours

Longer tours in North America have exposed a greater number of our members to the stellar roads in both Canada and the United States. In 2022 we arranged a trip following the MOA National Rally in Springfield MO, to Colorado. Touring Colorado's Rocky Mountain National Park, taking on the Million Dollar highway and ending in Durango were great riding experiences enjoyed by all.

In 2023 we have several smaller groups of our members heading down to the BMW MOA National Rally near Richmond VA.

Riders choose to travel independently, or with the group.

International

Spain and France 2019, was our third overseas club trip.

Planned and guided by our members with past European motorcycle touring experience we rented bikes and rode some great roads in the Pyrénées and visited many picturesque destinations in France and Spain.

How are guided club rides organized?

Extremely well, and led by our most experienced riders. Most rides are a full-day session from about 9:00-4:00, covering 300 ~ 400 km, with comfort breaks and a lunch stop. The group - usually 8-20 bikes is split into distinct groups of 6 - 8 similarly experienced riders. Each riding group travels in its own Safety Envelope with a leader and sweep.

What if I do not like riding in a group?

We have members who don't prefer those group rides. In this case, our structured ride leader would make available the routes in GPX format with the preferred break points and lunch spots for our members to use to ride alone whenever they like. They also enjoy our Social events, Website resources, and year-round access to a wealth of member "know-how" on all things BMW.

Do you go motorcycle camping?

We have many members who enjoy camping while on a tour or overnight at our Meetings or Picnics where camping ground is available. Use our Club Members Forums to seek out those like minded riders to travel with, or simply share tips and tricks for packing every camp item you need (and nothing you don’t!) safely on your motorcycle.

I work weekends, do you have mid-week rides?

Club rides are on weekends, but you can log-in to our Members website and post a Forum request for other members who enjoy adhoc weekday rides and share locations for the best twisties and quaint lunch spots that are not so travelled or as busy as on weekends.

Do you ever go on long trips?

In 2022 following attendance at the MOA National Rally in Springfield MO, we held a Colorado tour and for 6 days enjoyed the best that Colorado had to offer. From north to south throughout the state we experienced thrilling roads and great club member camaraderie.

Back in 2019, our last international trip was in Spain and France. We rented motorcycles and travelled some great roads, in both countries through the Pyrénées. We did our own self-guided tour led by members experienced in riding European roads.
